Corten Steel

Corten Steel Planters
Corten steel has many uses in garden and landscape design. It is also called weathering steel because it resists the weather so successfully. It has an organic quality that evolves as the steel begins to weather. The colours will vary as the reaction of the steel takes place, eventually producing an orangery/rustic brown patina. Our corten steel planters will be delivered in an un-weathered or partly weathered condition. Once placed outside the weathering process will begin. This process takes several months and corten steel has a reactive patina period from 3 to 4 months depending on location and climate. During the weathering process the corten steel produces carbon run off or staining to adjacent materials such as stone or concrete. To reduce this possible staining, all our corten steel products are supplied with small feet, lifting the product and preventing direct contact with the flooring material. After the initial reactive period corten steel will cure and self-seal with little to no carbon runoff. The weathering process of corten steel is integral to this product and as such we will not accept any responsibility for damage caused to surrounding materials as a result of carbon run off from corten steel products. Please ensure you protect any surface that may be damaged during the weathering process.
Our range of corten steel planters are manufactured using 1.5mm up to 8mm thick Corten steel. All our planters are commercial grade and have a 5 year manufacturers guarantee.
Our Corten Steel Planters are generally supplied in either a natural blue steel or partially transformed, however we can offer a pre- weathered service where the planter is delivered fully transformed with a rustic brown patina.
We offer some of our Oklahoma planters from stock with a 48 hour delivery service, however most of our corten steel products are generally made to-order, so as a guide please allow for the following lead times –
Metro 1.5mm – 2 - 3 weeks including bespoke sizes.
Oklahoma 2mm – 2 - 4 weeks [bespoke sizes- 6 weeks].
Oklahoma Premium 4mm – 4 – 6 weeks.
